Kiana Choy served as co-editor for the poetry team. She is a full time student at LaGuardia Community College and is earning her A.A. in English with a focus in Writing and Literature. She was born and raised in Queens, New York. She enjoys reading romance and thriller books during her free time, as well as cooking and learning new recipes. Upon graduating, Kiana plans on working with a publishing company to help authors reach their goals.

 


Rianna Cruz is currently a student at LaGuardia who will be graduating in 2023. Her love for writing has inspired her to keep going not only in school, but also in life. She will be the first to graduate college from her family and will continue the legacy of being the poem writer in her family and doing what she loves the most.

 

 

 


 

Franchesca Cuba served as co-editor in chief for The Lit. She is a student at LaGuardia Community College majoring in Journalism. She is from Perú and has lived in New York for three years. Currently, she is a math tutor in SGA Tutoring Lab at LaGuardia. She is a lover of poetry, literature and math. She aspires to continue her education after LaGuardia and major in Journalism and dedicate to journalism which she is passionate about. Her hobbies include learning to play the violin, reading, listening to music and spending time with her family.


Andrew Fermaint served as co-editor of the Flash Fiction Team of The Lit. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. He loves to play video games, and to discuss movies and tv shows. He is a lover of all things fiction but mostly comic books and graphic novels. He hopes to use his passion for writing to become a graphic novelist.

 


Melony Hodge served as co-editor in chief for The Lit. She was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and currently resides there with her husband and 2 year old daughter. She is a 2023 LaGuardia Community College graduate earning an A.A. in Writing and Literature with a focus on creative writing. She is also a Phi Theta Kappa honors society member. Her love for books and writing led her back to school to pursue a creative writing degree. She loves to express herself creatively and can be found working on anything from writings, sewing, DIY projects or other craft projects. She hopes to start her own business one day selling her crafts while also publishing books and other writings.


Tafarei Knight served as co-editor for the Flash Fiction and Art teams. He is a full-time student at LaGuardia Community College and is earning his A.A. in Creative Writing. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he is an avid fan of comics, video games and art. He hopes to use his attained skills to one day create comics.


Juan Ramirez served as a co-editor of the Flash Fiction Team of The Lit. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. He is a student at LaGuardia community college pursuing an A.A. in English with a strong focus on creative writing. He enjoys reading, writing and learning new things about the world and himself in the process.


Joel Pazmiño Rodriguez served as co-editor of the Flash Fiction Team of The Lit. He was born and raised in Queens by his Ecuadorian family. He is a 2023 Graduate of LaGuardia Community College with an A.A. in English. He is a lover of books and coming-of-age movies. He is also a lover of the outdoors and traveling, and takes inspiration from his adventures. With his love of storytelling, he hopes to publish his stories and copy-edit in the publishing industry.


Milidia Santana served as a co-editor of the Poetry Team of The Lit. Born and raised in Queens, she’s an avid enjoyer of art in all forms. Her hobbies consist of reading, writing, scrap booking and learning snippets of new languages. Upon graduating LaGuardia in the fall with an Associate’s in Creative Writing, she hopes to further her craft in Purchase College and eventually looks forward to publishing her own works. Despite eyes focused on a brighter future, she’s glad to have been part of this past.

 


Raisa Zannat served as co-editor in chief for The Lit. She grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh and transferred to LaGuardia as a Writing and Lit major. She enjoys creative writing and takes her inspiration from her South Asian diaspora. She is a Student Success Mentor at LaGuardia and a President’s Society Ambassador. She is transferring to City College to complete her Bachelor’s and aspires to be a writer someday.
